As you all might know the UAE Drift Professional Drifting by JDM allstars is taking place this upcoming weekend in the Dubai Festival City, the event includes many things including the drifting, a car show, DJ…etc, you can find more details on www.uaedrift.com

A display for car clubs has been arranged, the car show will be mainly on Friday and will take place between 02:00pm to 10:00pm

Beside the regular UAE media coverage, www.speedhunters.com has confirmed that their team will be attending the event, so make sure you shine your cars and join us.

Tickets are for AED 50/- and they can be purchased on the day of the event.

Thursday 9th Dec, 9pm - Statement from the UAE Drift event organisation: Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organisers, Dolphin Creative Events, JDM Allstars and Festival City, the UAE Drift has been cancelled at Festival City this weekend Dec 9-11th.

Cont'd “Our performances are a unique blend of extreme entertainment that make our events truly spectacular, if one of these crucial features is missing, then unfortunately we are unable to deliver a package to our fans” explained a spokesman for Dolphin Creative Events.
Disappointing issues, revealed only today, have spiralled out of control of the event organiser and the professional Drift Drivers who, unexpectedly, without their professionally prepared drift cars, are now unable to deliver their spectacular show.

“We would like to thank all our sponsors and partners who have put in so much hard work and effort to get this far and we will not be deterred in delivering exactly what we have promised our fans” continued the spokesman.

“We understand how fans of our sport will be bitterly disappointed by this announcement and we ask them for their understanding so we can look to make a positive solution to this problem and come back with an exceptional performance”. The latest on the UAE Drift event that was due to take place this weekend at Dubai Festival City is that it's back on. It will take place on Friday 17 December 2010, and this time entry will be free.

Here's the statement issued by the organisers:

Following the cancellation of UAE Drift last weekend due to exceptional circumstances, its organizers are pleased to announce the event will take place on Friday at Dubai Festival City.

The event, which was due to showcase for the first time will now take place on December 17, for one day only. Entry will be free of charge to all spectators.

UAE Drift is organised by Dolphin Creative in association with JDM Allstars, and features 12 international drifting champions competing over the day on a purpose-built track. It promises to be a day of high-octane action with plenty of wild tyre smoke, engine revving and fun.

'We had problems last week with the shipping of our specialised drifting cars from Europe, and so had to cancel at short notice,' said Niall Gunn, of JDM Allstars. 'We apologise to our fans for that, but now we can reveal that the show will go ahead on Friday, December 17 and it will offer just about as much action as they can handle.'

Fans can find UAE Drift outside the Toys ‘R’ Us at Dubai Festival City. Gates open at 2pm on Friday. Admission is free.

No man, the cars are there and they have been testing for the past couple of days, you can pass by on Thursday and watch the practice and you might have a chance to meet the drivers or get a wild ride with them even.
