Drive to Northern Oman, Khasab - March 28th 2014

Dear Members,

As promised and mentioned during our last drive the March drive will be different and does not happen often this drive will be to Northern Oman, some of you have been before, some have not. We invite you to join us for an exciting coastline cruise to Northern Oman.

Event details:

• Meet location: ACE Hardware Festival City
• Meet timing: 8:00 AM
• Rollout: 9AM +/-
• Event Destination: Northern Oman, Khasab
• Discounted price per person for the Buffet: 100 AED including soft drinks and juices
• Free to Paid Members: NO

Event Agenda:

• Ace Hardware 8AM – 9AM
• Golden Tulip hotel Khasab Oman (lunch) 12:30 – 2:00
• Khasab beach (Shisha/Photo-shoot) 2:00 – 4:00
• Drive back 4:00 +/-

Things you will need for the drive:

• Your cars
• Your actual passport
• Your car need to be insured in Oman, if not this can be purchased at the border for around AED100-150 depending on your car (3rd party only); call your current car insurance company to check if your policy covers Oman or not because some do.
• Please check and confirm if your able to cross the border by contacting the Omani Embassy or by visiting the link HERE. It has come to our attention that some nationalities must obtain a visa straight from the embassy and not via the border.
• Outdoor Chairs (Khasab Oman)
• Shisha (if a smoker - charcoal will be provided)
• Sweatshirt depending on the weather
• Cameras and go-pros

just to keep you guys updated , Regarding Syrians : there is no restrictions regarding visa on arrival , I spoke with the embassy and they confirm there is no issues from their side , so whoever managed to visit Oman earlier then he will manage to join us in this drive , but if there is any doubt please contact them through the link mentioned above by Sari .

I haven't been to this forum for more than two years but the photos on Instagram always tempt me to check the upcoming events. And what do you know, next event is a drive to Oman!

Coincidence is that I'm going to be in Dubai during that weekend. It seems like a long shot but I will see if I can make it.

(note: I've never been to Khasab but I heard it's beautiful)

- Is this a family drive or a guys-only drive?
- Where can I rent a BMW for one day for a decent price (I won't have my car since I'm coming to Dubai by plane)?

BMW and decent price and not friends at all :D unless you are planning to pull over in the middle of the drive and call for help .

also , it's hard to rent a car for 1 single day in UAE , most of the companies have 3 days minimum rent
