Which option should I go with ?

    Hi,

This is a continuation of the CSl front bumper and trunk subject...

I've decided on the trunk, but now i have 2 choices with regards to the csl front bumper.
    (1) fiber glass
    (2) carbon fiber = total price compared to fiber glass will be $150-200 more

Is the carbon fiber bumper a much better choice??? or are they somewhat similar? whichever choice i make, the bumper will be painted fully!

    Comments pleasssssseeee! :)

It's worth paying the extra just to get the CF trunk... it looks better and is actually much MUCH more durable!!

I remember that fibre-glass parts never look 100% and that they might under the sun get a little wavey... I think it's best to leave it to the die hard experts!!!

If it were me... I'd save up for the CF trunk fo shizzle!

What does it mean? never look 100%? (highlighted in red?)

fiber glass is very hard to paint and will be weavy most of the time after painting it. go with CF... or better yet you should order your bumper as plastic compound (i'm not sure what it's called) just like OEM.... you don't want to save money here. trust me.

Okay not saving money anymore (or being cheap hahaha)!

I think i'm getting my stuff from either dtm-spec or modbargains

I got a nice offer from dtm-spec and waiting for modbargains to reply.

The order will be csl trunk (carbon fiber)

Front csl bumper V1 (Plastic material like oem)

If I were in your shoes, it'd be CF bumper ofcourse! A nice difference in weight and on the front end to be precise. That is if youre talking about a TRUE one-piece CF bumper.

But, for durability. OEM plastic is best.

Stay away from fiberglass, it looks as if it were bondo'd a million times at the first time you paint it. Not worth the moeny if you ask me.

Hi guys, i've received the trunk and front bumper. Now the body shop is saying that the ABS plastic will look wavy :(
Why is that??? He said they will do their best t make it look perfect. This is a reputable body shop!
I thought fiber glass is the one that looks wavy when painted not ABS plastic!

the only issue i know with ABS plastic is that the paint might be a bit off..

it should not have any problems since our OEM bumpers are already ABS plastic....

No not really, the body shop owner is a long time friend....its not that at all.

He was just warning me, and i was surprised to hear that about the ABS plastic.

The main reason why i didnt buy a fiber glass front bumper was the paint wave that shows on majority of fb bumpers, and the durability (from what i heard, its easier to crack than ABS).
