I hope im not interrupting in an M3 topic, but this is related to my E39 M5 as well.. I dont say that my car is not powerful enough to bear the heat, the car was tested and produced to take anything that comes across its way, but since i love my car and hate to see it being abused by the heat i had decided to get myself a daily use car.
Im planning to use the M5 for a long term use and thats why i tend to preserve it in the best way possible.. Sun is one thing my car hardly sees and its always parked in my coverede garage. I take it for a spin only once or twice a week, but yes, when the right time comes and the perfect weather kicks in, that'd be my time and my way of enjoying the car. In weather as hot as 45 C, i myself dont feel comfortable driving the car, this car is made to be pushed so why do we have to drive in summer in a way to keep the temperature down ?! Drive and push the car when the right weather kicks in, this is what i believe.
On a side note, since one month my M5 has covered only 200 kms, everyone has his own way of driving the car in summer or preserving the car in summer, we respect all different opinions :)

Same as you - hope im not interrupting a strictly m3 dedicated thread but.

Its the same case for me. My car temperature remains stable as it was during winters when im driving on normal 'D'. But after about 10 minutes of driving on 'DS' the hand gets an erection and moves almost half way to the top.

comon guys...... no one wants to support me in teasing Mr. bruno...

bruno knows very well how i treat my car... :) and he knows that its not my Daily drive since day one... i am 100% supporting what u said Ssense and this is how i treat my car :)
