How to know! odometer tampered or not?

Is there any way to check if the odometer is tampered for E36 and E46?

BMW should have such facility to check! Shakeel can?

The key usually holds this info and is difficult but not impossible to do.

The E36 tamper dot is orange, not red

Yes I meant DOT, and got to reconfirm this.

The orange DOT is called the Emulation light!!!
This means that the mileage is incorrect.
The mileage is stored in many places such as LCM,EWS,INSTRUMENT CLUSTER,DME and all KEY'S.

Changing any of the above modules from another car will put the Emulation light on permanent,also if someone tries to put the mileage back without the correct equipment will put the Orange light on.

IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO ADJUST THE MILEAGE ON ANY CAR WITHOUT A VALID REASON.
