    Opinions needed about Manual Tranny.

    So I was wondering what kind of maintenance a 100k kms bmw would need.

    And here's what I've done so far.

    1. Got Fully synthetic oil from bmw + filter.
    2. Changed spark plugs
    3. Replaced regular water in radiator with that green coolant water.

    and here is the next step and my question(s)

    Is it recommended to change the gear oil? If yes, what brand and from where because i asked the stealer if they would supply me and they said they don't sell oils or something. (A quote also would be really appreciated)
    Secondly, Differential fluid change... a good idea, If yes, from where or what brand?? (Quote here if possible too)

    Thanks alot guys, Ive read many bmw forums and researched this matter thoroughly so i thought i'd check with you guys before taking any action.

    THANK YOU!!! :thanks2::thanks2::thanks2:

            Actually I was about to change the gear oil, but more than one mechanic advised me not to change it. For differential good that you asked as I am not sure about it as well..

            By the way, in Namothaj Abu Dhabi they sell OEM BMW manual gear oil 5 or 6 litters arround 500 AED!

                Just change the oils, it will refresh ur whole system. I don't honestly suggest Red line oils for ur diff or gear, go with OEM oils, I mean after all BMW oils are meant for BMW.

                    I cant remember what i did for my car lolllll but i remember that i changed the SMG oil and differential oil and some members mentioned that replacing the oil (completely) is not good! adding to it is what u are suppose to do! Bro i say wait to get a verdict! My car is running great, i dont have SMG gear problems or any differential issues! Not sure why i was told that :(

                      Did you feel any difference after the change? and what oil did you use? OEM or some other brand?

                        why you want to change the oil, as far as i remember your car drive smoothly, unless you have a gear issues or diff issues then change the oil otherwise do not change the oil

                          I have learned my lesson the hard way aljebouri. I have neglected the gear oil in my previous automatic E39 530i and it bit me in the a$$. Had to pay 5000 dhs to fix it. So i don't want to do the same mistake again. I just want to change them as maintenance since it did above a 100,000 kms. Why do you think i should not change it? Any thoughts or reasons would be very useful, Thank you! :thanks:
