iPod & iDrive

Hey,

How to get the iPod working with the iDrive? Do I need any adapter or something? Can I get it from outside and fix it myself or do I have visit AGMC?

Hi there,
I tried buying a "non BMW" cabel to connect my ipod but it did not work. I then bought the ipod connection cable at AGMC that works great so my opinion is that you do need to get the cable from AGMC. from memory think it was around AED 400.

there is not really any installation. the cable just connects to the aux and the usb port that is in the arm rest. once you plug the ipod in there it gets power and you get full access to the ipod via the idrive. with the idrive controller it works basically just like the ipod itself but of course you get the full view on the screen of the car. very cool actually
