    Engine oil price doubled!

    Hi guys,
    I dont know if this has been brought up already, but i went to BMW today to get a liter of engine oil for e60 m5, and to my surprise the price doubled from 3 kd to 6 kd! Insane! The employee told me that the bmw factory increased the price just like that; no explanation!
    Is this the same everywhere???

          6 kd is almost 80 dirhams! Thats insane, and no one in the states is experiencing any price increase on engine oil. Whats the story? Can this dealership in kuwait do this? Raise the price just like that?

                SAR 75 from the dealer in Saudi and SAR 45 from Red Cap (Local place). Around SAR 340 for a box (12 Bottles) straight from Castrol (3 months ago).

                The Oil the dealer sells isn.t the approved by BMW, it is Castrol Edge 10 W 60 Synthetic though.

                So I suggest going straight to the Castrol dealer and buy by boxs!

                    Lol everyone is getting their oil at different prices, still no one beat the high rate they are charging here in kuwait! I will look for the castrol company itself, and go from there.

                          I get my oil change kit from the USA since i bought my car. Recently i found out i can get it for the same price from the local castrol dealer :)

                            Yes that's true Ejaz. Ahmed Al Kuwaiti prices are very reasonable.

                            However, I have recently also found out that the oil the dealer sells, has a lower resistance to heat than the M Motorsport certified Castrol that that Euromotors sells.

                            I don't pay much attention to it because it simply hasn't been an issue for me unless I track my car regularly.
