e60 high rate of batter discharge warning

    Dear friends

    I have a 2009 E 60, and my battery went dead 2 weeks ago.

Since the car was 2.5 years old I decided to go for a new battery.

However this morning I still got this warning although the car started fine

I understand when I installed a new battery, maybe the IBS (intelligent battery) sensor needs to be reset?

I hope that's the only problem

    please advise me.

Yes, the battery needs to be registered for the IBS to function properly.

what is the procedure if it is only 30 seconds?

does it have to be done at workshop?

yes offcourse ,,, 30 seconds is the process time which the BMW tool ( for example Autologic - GT1 etc etc ) takes from the moment you press " register new battery " till the new batter registration finish ,

diffidently it can't be done by pressing some button on the dash for few seconds ;)

by the way the autologic could register the battery at X centre

ended up throwing away the old one and getting one installed at the dealer
