Photoshopped M1(?) Prototype

I think i remember a discussion on this forum about the proposed/rumoured M1, but a forum search for "M1" shows no threads. So, i'll post this picture i found. If it's been seen before, my apologies...but even if it has, i think it's worth seeing again! But surely this isn't an M1-based prototype? It looks more like a 6 series with a bit of Z4 at the front?

Like it or loath it (ignoring the funny red details)? Me, i'd be straight down the dealership with my cheque book!

I've been looking at it a little more... I can't stop looking at it actually!!! and it does seem to look like a stretched M3 with a more aggressive look, even the side skirts are similar to the M3's... I think they based it on a beautiful car already!!! :)

One of the first things that came into my mind when i saw the car was "Audi R8", and i think the photoshopper has used at least a couple of design elements from it...

honestly BMW can use some new designers.. i've seen many photoshops over the last 5 years that can make it to the streets & become very successful..

so what holds BMW from developing a supercar?

Ive been looking at that M1 again and again, I know it looks like R8 but hey it looks much better.
Im sure if its ever produced, will give lots of cars a good run for their money !
