What would you do if you were offered a rent-a-car service at just Dh10 per day?
You would probably whoop with joy, right?
Well, that’s exactly what Inmotion Media Rent-a-car, an Abu Dhabi-based advertising company, is offering.
The company has launched a mobile advertising campaign whereby it will use its fleet of premium cars as mobile billboards. With advertisers paying for the car rental, the company offers cars to customers for an amazing Dh10 a day!
Some conditions
There are some conditions though. The rented cars must be driven only within certain zones catering to the advertisers’ interests. This may be Dubai or Abu Dhabi; for example, if a car is rented in Dubai, it needs to remain in Dubai.
Gregor Streyzowsky, Managing Director and Partner of Inmotion, said: “There are exceptions – some people like to move outside the zone and as a service provider we aim to meet the needs of all and keep our customers happy.”
The customer also needs to drive a minimum of 30km and maximum of 300km per day within the advertising zone. If customers drive less than 30km a day, they need to pay Dh10 extra for every kilometre below 30km, while if they drive above 300 kilometres, they will have to pay the company Dh1 extra for every additional kilometre driven.
Customers also have to pay a refundable Dh1,500 security deposit that will be used to settle any applicable charges, such as speeding fines. Payments must be made in advance and are only acceptable through credit cards.
The campaign provides a better deal for those interested in short-term car rentals, as rents on this special rate are available for up to eight consecutive days only.
The company has a fleet of 60 vehicles in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and they expect the number to increase to 170 cars by the end of this year.
Optional additional services like a second driver, pick-up and delivery to Dubai on weekdays or weekends, and car wash at return of vehicle (as customers are obliged to return it in a clean state) will cost a total of Dh380.
Other charges will be imposed in case of off-road driving, racing, drinking alcohol and driving or smoking inside the vehicle, carrying animals or losing the key.

“The UAE is a good car rental market and this campaign is a good catch for community members,” said Streyzowsky, adding that the vehicles are GPS-tracked.
