    My Hard Disk: HELP!!!

    Guys :(

My hard disk is being "unrecognized" anymore. Both home desktop and laptop gave me the same message! It was fine 2 days ago!!!

    Please tell me there's a way! :(

damn dude... I don't know what the solution is. My guess is of u take it to a computer shop they can take out the hard drive and retrieve the data...

I think the motherboard is in the crapper!

Did you install any programs on them or did you try to format the PCs ? How can both the desktop's and laptop's hard drives say unrecognised at the same time

I think it's an external hard drive!

None of the above. It's my personal hard disk and when I plugged into both computers they popped the message of the unrecognized USB device...

Ayham, you may want to change the USB and the Power cable of the HDD and give it a try, it might work and if it still gives you the same message, then look for a data recovery asap..

Try this once if you can:

You may have pulled the plug on the drive while it was still writing - always use the "safely remove hardware" icon to power down and disconnect the drive before removing it.

Try another USB plug. Use one on the back of the computer, it would be the best. This has been known to sometimes work.

Try to plug in the USB drive before you turn on the computer. Or if you've done that - try to plug in the USB drive after the computer is on.

Go to device manager , open the USB controllers ,
If you find one with a yellow check mark, uninstall it , then rescan for
hardware changes - Windows should reinstall the USB driver at this point.
