Got flashed at 111km/h on SZR? Wondering why ?

also for those who use dubai al ain road after u exit al khail road (121 km/h) and take this segment that goes to nad al shaba and al ain road there is a camera set at 101 km/h then speed becomes 121 km/h shortly then 141 km/h on al ain road
in brief there is a segment with the sign saying 80 km/h.......take care of it coz the camera appears shortly after the sign
academic road and around international city.........portable cameras r put frequently behind guard rails in any time of the day they flash at 101 km/h which is pretty slow coz those roads r usually empty

Somebody also told me that the new radars with the orange lights (up top) don't flash (i.e. doesn't have a radar inside them) only the ones with the clear lights work... don't know if this true or not, but might be worth noting

they also flash & the light is normal white & not affected by the orange tint

P.S. some also got black tint & i used to think they don't have a flash (& hence out of service) but they DO flash as well :)

Another thingi noticed while stuck in traffic on SZR (dont remember which radar though)

It had a red light on just below the camera (where the flash is) it was continuously on inside the black glass covering . .

wonder what that is ? :S

Reading this thread and i feel horrified! What the hell, how can any of u drive like that!!!
I mean i used to hate it few years back, thats when the cameras were half of the ones that exist today!
I swear its annoying! I mean it is a good thing to have cameras and try to limit people from speeding, but its another thing when its over done, and obviously to make money! Or else there would be no need for tricky placement and hidden flash, etc!
When i see myself getting flashes, i will slow down. when i dont see myself getting flashed, i wouldnt know about it until i have to pay! not same psychological effect!

dude it's not as bad as it sounds. you just need to learn where these radars are it's easy to memorize their places.

guys the radars are one sided. they're still not on both sides !!

how to tell .... easy ... look at the radar and check if there is the black rectangle at the bottom of the Flash .... if there is one then it is on YOUR side if there is no rectangle then it is on the other side ....
