Salik Account

Hi Everyone!

I removed the Salik tag from my Alpina when I sold it.

However, the car still appears in my account on the Slaik web site. How do I remove it from my account. Or, will it be removed automatically once the new owner registers his salik tag?

call them and informed them, it ll not be removed from your account till you call them

What about the balance that I have in my account. Will this remain so that I can register the next car under the same account?

No need jus buy a new one and when u call to give them information about the new salik they'll remove the old one

btw was your alpina sold with the old number plate? if so, then you have to call salik and inform them.

The Alpina was sold with the same number plate.

Yes, it will be best to inform the folks and let them do the migration - still not sure if that's possible though cause once you've ripped the salik from the car, it won't be operational again - it's delicate.

I remember I had changed my number plat and forgot to sync the salik with the new number. I got 22k in fines cause I passed it time and again no knowing :P But all was waived after informing of the issues - they would need documentation to prove the transfer etc so keep them handy.

^ i dont think they do check the car number as i have a friend put his old salik on his new car with different color and diffident shape and totally another plate color but no fines no problems and its working properly

I just called Salik and told them I had sold the car.

They informed me that it is best to destroy the existing tag and get a new one for the next car. The new tag can be registered with my existing Salik account and the remaining balance on the account shall not be lost.

if the new owner puts a new salik the i guess they can make an internal adjustment, if the new owner decideds to drive through a salik gate without a new tag, then you will follow shelden's footsteps and maybe break his 22k record :rofl:

How do they know that a car passed a toll gate without a salik tag?

I don't think the system is capable for that. What about the visitors from other countries. They don't have slik tags on their cars.

if the cameras do not detect the tag on a car they will take a picture of it!

I have never seen any flashes come out of the toll gates. Unless, its the damn flashless cameras.
