    The rumour mill can rest easy, as Pagani's long awaited replacement for the Zonda supercar has been revealed in full. It's called the Huayra and it promises to be one of the most sensational new cars of 2011.

    Pagani has been developing the Huayra (pronounced 'wirer' with a Spanish accent apparently) for seven years and it's due to cost as much as £900,000.

    Full technical details have yet to be officially released, but we do know that the new supercar will be powered by a bi-turbo 6.0-litre V12 engine with up to 730bhp on tap. AMG, the high-performance arm of Mercedes-Benz, developed and produces the engine for Pagani.

    As you'd expect, all that power enables otherworldly performance. A top speed of 230mph and 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds are expected - though not yet confirmed by the Italian company. A seven-speed paddle-shift gearbox is standard.

    The body and chassis are just as exotic. A mix of carbon fibre and titanium is used throughout, including in the massive gullwing doors.

    Meanwhile, Pagani has developed a highly sophisticated active aerodynamics package inspired by aircraft design. It uses four automatically variable wings - one on each corner of the car - to adjust downforce and drag depending on conditions. The ride height is also varied automatically for the same reason.

    Pagani interiors have always been a little eccentric, but in a bid to broaden its customer base the cockpit of the Huayra is larger and more comfortable than its predecessor's. This is the first Pagani that will be sold in the USA.

    To facilitate its expansion into new markets, Pagani plans to build a new manufacturing plant later in 2011.

    We expect to see the Huayra at the Geneva Motor Show in March, where it'll be vying for star of the show status with a new Lamborghini supercar and the controversial new Ferrari FF.

          The Car is beyond amazing...i love the fact that such a brand was created by a single guy's dream and passion and is now turning into a bigger supercar manufacturer in front of our eyes. Just like Mr. Enzo did back in his days.

                        one of the ugliest cars ever designed... looks like the designer had so many different ideas and didn't know which one to go with so he went with all of them... The Zonda is a much better design and looks more elegant.
