I think its very kind of the Ruler of Dubai to show some sympathy for the people in Gaza. How can you celebrate when so many innocent people are being murdered and no one is doing anything about it! If it was your own family being slottered, you would think differently of the situation! right? This is one thing I learned after seeing my father (God bless his soul) pass away as a victim of Cancer. Prior to being diagnosed with Cancer, I never thought of that disease, and i never cared! Selfishness on my behalf! now i do care and i try my best to help by showing sympathy, donations, etc. Why is it that a situation has to hit you in order for you to respond or try to help? selfishness i guess.
So to get back to topic, now imagine if it was the other way around and the palestinians were the ones who killed the israelis(whats the count now? 390 dead, 2000 wounded)! we would have been on every news channel, being called terrorists, Islam will dragged along the way, and it would have been a disaster! Its unfortunate that the foreign media is not covering this event like it should! showing true facts and real pictures!
I hope i didn't offend anyone with my message, i just feel that the situation is horrible, and i wish i was able to do more for the people in Gaza. I already donated money and 2 boxes of blankets, canned food, etc. my donation is nothing compared to what the people in Gaza need!

I agree with you LSB, Selfishness could be one aspect of it, the other could just be the mere lack of realization, not know what the intensity of such a thing (cancer) could be. As for Gaza, what is happening there is injustice.

I'm with you where you mentioned foriegn media not covering this side of the story, and the same way local media not covering the other side of the story, media these days is very bias.
With BBC showing only what Israelis have gone through under fire from Hamas, and Gulf News showing this side of the story.

What i can't understand is why can't both media (western & Local) show both sides of the story, otherwise we've got the western world thinking only Hamas is the bad guy, and we've got the arab world thinking Israel is the bad guy (which i believe too, no matter what reasons it has, taking such a strong step was completely unnecessary)

Both ways, we all can in some way contribute to helping the people of Gaza, no matter how small our effort is, it counts.

Lets not blame the western media or any western part for what is happening. We only have us to blame as Arab citizines and leaders. We always sit without any reaction towards Israily agression towards citizens of Plastine. Our lack of action has tought them that they can do whatever they want, and all we'll do is meet and have summits and conclude with a message that says that we are against these acts and please stop. Who cares?
When we as people and nations don't have any honor left to stand up to such aggression, why would anyone care to listen to us?
Don't look for the media to change or the western mentality to change towards us, if we can't change ourselves and try to regain some of the pride our forfathers had, why should anyone else change.
