    Connecting a phone to a BMW M4?

I always see in the videos I've watched that they are placing a small iPhone in the arm rest and this has me thinking....

    1) Is the BMW infotainment system only compatible with iPhones or would Android phones also work?

    2) Is the size adjustable where you place the phone because the videos I've seen always had a small 4.7" iPhone similar to the size of the iPhone 5S or iPhone SE. or is it actually adjustable that you can fit in bigger phones?

There are standard phone cradles that you can get from BMW which work as a snap-in adapter. However, they do not make it for all models.

Suggest you check with the parts department on what is available for the car that you plan to buy. The folks at AGMC will be able to sort you out with all prices and the specifications. They are open from 0800-1800 on all days except fridays.

I have recently purchased preowned 2014 model BMW 320I. I understand that it did not come with a factory fitted audio to enable bluetooth connectivity with mobile devices to listen to music. Although it comes with bluetooth connectivity but can only be used for phone calls. It has USB audio interface, Aux input.

I researched online extensively and shortlisted the following options:
      1) Apple Y Cable: Restricted to only apple phone. Uses Aux input for audio so quality of sound may not be very good
      2) Grom audio kit: Seems quite interesting to connect any Android / iphone. Comes with functionality to use steering controls.

I am planning to buy Grom audio kit and wanted to confirm if anyone has got it installed in Dubai / UAE?

I had a Grom kit in my E60 back in the Netherlands. Worked like a charm.

After installing you need to get it coded as a cd changer. (At least, this was the case for the older CCC system) but quite sure it is the same for CIC. You can stream music without problems.

There is a third option as well which I had on another BMW and that is buying and installing the iPod interface and buy an extra iPod via dubizzle for example. Sound quality of the iPod was very good.

Also, check if your phone is able to be both connected to a car kit and a Grom module. Because I didn't really like the Grom phone interface.

        Good luck with your choice!
