    I'm doin' this ! ( 2008 E90 M3 - ESS VT2 625 Super charger )

    Hello fellas ,

So I’ve been thinking about this for quite sometime now , although I've been modding cars for the past 10 yrs or so but I haven’t done any Bimmer , majority of my cars were Japanese and inline 6's to be exact .

The supercharger kit I chose is the ESS VT2 625 and that was after going through alotta forums and reviews and finally drove one last week , I’m completely satisfied with the performance of this kit and that’s how I want my car to be .

    here is the Kit :

Okay , Now this is all sweet and fancy ..here is the ****** up part !
Although This kit requires no change in any of the internals or alternating any thing stock apart from those injectors and the polys ( which is completely reversible BTW ) My car has the APR2008 production S65 engine which regardless of whether you had the symptoms or how bullet proof this engine is many reported it had issues with the ROD Bearings under boost or after 100K of NA use . and I don’t want any issues with my 200000 Dhs car of course ! SO I decided to go for the ROD replacement job prior to the installation ... Actually I wanna do it with my next oil change which I'm due for in like a month or so .

Now Rod bearings replacement job on a Toyota 2JZ Block for example is bit hard .. but on an M engineered S65 engine with all their bore settings and plastigauges and BMW Spec is one MAJOR PAIN IN DA *** !
So I’m looking for reputable shop that I can trust to do this job for my babe ... And I don’t know anybody when it comes to BMW shops unfortunately .

I already ordered the VAC Motorsport KIT which got the coated bearings and those are thermal breakdown resistant, helping to prevent premature engine failures under stress when things are most critical. These bearings can last much longer than any normal bearing set as proven by the 100s engine built and racecar completing more than 150K of track use !

Here is the ROD bearings replacement kit by VAC MS :

Now My fellow Bimmersss , I need your help ... I’m looking for a decent BMW Spec compliant shop in the UAE to do this Job according to clearance specs using the BMW tools ... what do you recommend knowing that I'll be providing the replacement parts and I just need them to do the job ..my budget for this should not exceed 2000 dhs ... what do you say ?!

Glad to see people are actually modding their E90/E92 and using F/I. I've got a friend of mine with installed the ESS VT625 on stock internals and rods with no issues, his car has 120km. Again, don't take my word but that's just an example. There are few garages in the area that are professional and can do good jobs on Ms. Based on my personal experience, I'd say take it to X-Service Center in Al Quoz, refer my name and they'd hook you up.

Get this beast up and running, make sure you dyno it to get the best result, I'll ask and see how many horses my friend's car is pushing!

    Cheers!

Thx for the reply Rifo !

I knew from my research that I would be able to just install the kit right away but I will need this sooner or later being a Pre MAY2008 production s65 plus I have a dumbass heavy foot and this wont be a garage queen :)

On X-service Hmmm dunno but I kinda dont trust them on jobs like these ... just my feeling but correct me if im wrong

BTW Can you connect me to that friend of yours ? is his a black E92 ?

      thx

I've done some major jobs at X-Service and they were quite good.

Sure I got your details, I'll let him contact you and guide you with some stuff :) I've seen his car do miracles!

I still would like to see one mechanic in the UAE who would open up a BMW engine, replace stuff inside it without having it blown up after a while. sorry rifo I don't think this shop exists yet in Dubai. there might be a few lucky people who had the internals done and are still going but generally speaking most of them ended up crying a few weeks down the line.

i'm flying in an engineer from Europe next month to do something similar on one of my engines, if you are interested.

my advice is don't touch your rod bearings, just go F/I and call it a day.

Wow bruno ! Flyin in an engineer ! ... I do own an Bmw but I dont **** gold :)

Thats abit extreme for me although I do agree with you on how hard it is to keep up with bmw specs for local workshops but cmon there gotta be someone somewhere in the country who can do the job !

Lets simplfy what im lookin for , firat of all there is no need to remove the engine ... they would remove the front sub frame then the oil pan and the rods bearings will be visble ..
Now the hard part is the installation and the clearance and all that bmw crap ... u need somebody who have done it b4 on an M veichle .. not a (EDITED BY RIFO) !

Still lookin for advice on the shop guys , help me out here !

Nice post! Will be interested to see the final result! I am glad you have bought yourself a cheap insurance policy of doing the bearings as well. It will be money well spent IMHO. Much cheaper than spinning a bearing later on and running metal through your engine, or maybe a rod blowing through the side of your block.

As Bruno mentioned, there is no one in the UAE that I would let touch my cars. Now I am suffering from a place to work on my own stuff, this is the only problem :(
