    Light weight flywheel..

    Hai there,
Was wondering if someone from the club has done a lightweight flywheel setup on their car?

Wld like to get feedback as to the experience of having one..
Any issues with the setup when considering for a daily driver situation..
    E46 330i..

    Thank u..

I remember back in the day when I had my E46, the best FlyWheel setup was UUC LightWeight FlyWheel. I guess it only came on E46 M3 though, double check that.

It's available from turner Motorsport for 330i. Was just wondering how bad the chatter is from the outside, also how tricky is it to drive..

Just went through ur mod list. It's mentioned a stage 2 tune from Simon Motorsport.
How gud is the tune as in actual drivability for an N/A car..
Was thinking abt coilover as well, not any time soon but just wanted an opinion, as ur car seem to be a perfect rep of what I want my car to be.

Simon did a great job in tuning my car. The power curve was adjusted and it was felt right away.

Get some pulleys on your E46, will make a huge difference.

Its a four door sedan(family car) so pulley is not an option..
Want a/c and everything to work at full as the car has black on black interior. Not the happiest on this kind of weather.

I asked abt the tune coz normally a naturally aspirated engine doesn't benefit that much from a tune unless I have headers or going forced induction. Don't know that much abt BMs coz all my experience are based on LS(Chevrolet) engines..

Have heard German cars moslty Audi benefit greatly from a tune. Same with BM?

for daily driving duty why would you need a LTFW? ive seen a few people use them, they are too clunky and you don't benefit from it much on a nonM

Bought a manual specifically for one thing. Rev match downshifting. It's just the most rewarding thing to do which u can never get from an SMG. So anything that enhances the experience of shifting is welcome. Even though it's a daily driver I'm planning to take it to the track.

The idea is to slowly grow my skills as a driver and doing mods on a much slower basis than buying a whole kit just for the fun of it.

                  Hi buddy,

Im running pulleys on my e46 M3 without any issues and loss of AC cooling. The only change i noticed was the power steering got a bit heavier...but nothing that will bother or make it feel like a gym workout (my wife manages to drive it without complaining as well :) )

I'd suggest you get it ;)

How much of the whp is actually gained with an under drive pulley?
Wont be doing that anytime soon as just changed a bunch of pulleys when the water pump said bye bye...[emoji2] [emoji2].
Everyone seeming to be shying away from a lightweight clutch setup. Is it that bad?

Not sure about the actual gain cause i didnt dyno it. Stated gain is around +10 i believe. But you definitely feel it! and possibly more after a tune. No plans to dyno it now either since i've put her up for sale.

                              Yup...
Inside bits are the same. That's y it's way easier to convert an SMG to manual rather than an auto. Haven't driven an SMG uptil now but nothing beats a manual for sheer feel.
But on track or if u r trying to race ur friend then it's a different story...[emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2] .
