My apologies for a lengthy post in advance. Just wanted a quick and proper introduction to get to know everyone here...
My name is Medhat Ashi, I just recently moved to Dubai from Dallas,TX a few months ago. My first time leaving the US and my first time in the middle east. Glad I chose Dubai as I've been lurking around here for a while before finally creating an account so I can formally introduce my self and hopefully join my fellow enthusiasts here.
Long time BMW/Porsche enthusiast. For as long as I can remember I've been an avid and active BMW enthusiast so I was really excited to see there's a group here for me to socialize with and hopefully build new relations and friendships with.
A little ownership history...
My first BMW was a 1995 E36 M3 Daytona Violet 5spd w/Mcloth interior (rare in the US) prob not so sought after on this side of the world. I was hooked and my vehicle history shows it...Out of 17 total cars, 12 were BMWs.
1995 Daytona Violet E36 M3 2dr/5spd
1995 Cosmos Black E36 M3 2dr/5spd
1999 Fern Green E36 M3 2dr/5spd
1991 Alpine White 325i 2dr/5spd
1996 Arctic Silver E36 M3 2dr/5spd
1996 Arctic Silver E36 328i Sport 4dr/5spd
1998 Hellrot Red E36 M3 2dr/5spd
2001 Electric Red E39 540 Sport 6spd
2003 Schwartz Black E39 540 Msport
1998 Hellrot Red E36 M3 4dr/5spd *current
2005 Imola Red E46 M3 coupe/6spd
2001 Titanium Silver 740iL Sport
During my decision to move here I was current on my last 3 on the list with a Jeep as my daily driver and I've since sold my E46 and E38 and decided to keep my E36 sedan as it held a special place in my life and I couldn't get rid of it. I have been playing with BMWs and Porsches for a long time and made my hobby a career choice. Factory trained BMW Technician with experience ranging from US Dealer environment to privately owned and operated BMW/Porsche specialist shops experienced with new and current models to heavy custom builds and track-car modifications. My latest project was my E36 w/s54 swap out of a z3Mcoupe that I've long since traded in favor of more power s5x turbo setup which I left in the states while i settle down here.
I look forward to hopefully meeting some of y'all soon and bringing my car over and hit some track days out here.
