    M2 Brake issue?

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question. I picked up my M2 in December and after normal to occasional hard driving at times noticed the front brakes were causing light vibration in the cabin of the car with a distinctive noise under load.
I thought initially that this was due to them being performance rotors on the car.

I took the car back to BMW and they actually replaced the rotors and pads for me under warranty!
After bedding the new pads and rotors in I am having the same issue. I think maybe this is just normal although it does seem strange if the brakes make this kind of noise...

    Any information would be great

    Thanks

had the pleasure of driving one for a day. what an awesome car! Well some sort of vibration and noise is expected under heavy braking. But to understand it better, would it possible for you to upload a video of the noise under load?

This should not be normal with any brand new car.

If you feel the vibration in the cabin and not in the steering wheel then your issue is in the rear brakes.

whats the mileage on the car?

Did the dealer check your control arm bushings?

Also, try to bed them in some more.

Hi guys. So the bedding in process I did do thoroughly and carefully.

The rear brakes haven't been replaced actually so that might just be the issue. There is very little vibration through the wheel, I will get a video when I'm next out in the car driving quite hard.

If the problem persists I'll be taking it back in yet again.

Might be as Hasan mentioned bushings or a bad alignment.

Let us know what the solution turns out to be

                Hi guys,

Update on the brakes, I had the car into BMW last week and amongst a few other issues they have finally fixed the problem with the brakes.
They told me it was an imperfection on the discs, I actually think it was the rear discs that was to fault in the end.
So they skimmed all four discs and reset them and balanced them too. So far so good it has transformed the car completely!

All I will say though is the customer service generally at AGMC is terrible. They actually went ahead with the disc skimming without my permission. Very disappointing

Glad to know the issue is fixed :) The CS generally can improve, did you take it to SZR service centre?

Just out of curiosity your car was a brand new car or used?

The car was 6 months old bought on Pre-Owned.

Must've been the demo car perhaps?
