I disagree on the part where people insisted that Active Cruise Control is not useful.

I'd rather point out the fact that it isnt suited to the driving styles of the middle east. Im aware the most of us here (in this club) are far more civilised drivers than the regular population of this country, but these cars and options are designed to suit the styles of much more civilised driving scenarios such as in the west or european countries. By god, if cars were to be spec'd for UAE, we'd have stadium halogens for headlights and Horns that can disturb the music in clubs, and off course, no spedometers.

In countries where drivers are respectful of the other persons 'hurry' or 'urgency' they would move out of the way without the need to be flashed at (SSense point). Which mostly isnt the case here.

Dont pounce on me now, Its just my opinion.

At a certain point I do agree with you Hiten, I wish it was the case here, when cars infront realise they dont have to be flashed to get off the fast lane, even when the middle or the slow lanes are empty some people like to stick on the fast pace

i heard that in some countries you are not allowed to use fast lane all the time actually it is called overtaking lane so it is just for overtaking not to use for the whole trip.
here in the uae u see two types of dangerous drivers
1- driving very fast (above the speed limit) on the fast lane that he doesn't even give a chance for ppl to give him way, so what does he want?! he wants you to vanish from his way he doesn't care if u hit another he just wants to pass
2- slow drivers who drive in the middle lanes at 100 km/h in a road that has a 160 km/h speed limit

both are dangerous

i agree with almost everything on this thread including the off topics........

used the active cruise control on my bro's Jag XF but didn't really like it for the reasons stated above.. prefer the normal cruise control.. P.S. don't try changing 2 lanes at a time with active cruise control on, the car gets "surprised" with the cars in the transition lane and hits the brakes like there's no tomorrow
