Integration of Nokia Maps with BMW Navigation

G'day Everyone,

I was thinking once i have done this for one of my friend, integrating phone Nokia N95 with Stock BMW Navigation Screen. and works even while car is moving. (By default there is Security Warning on BMW's TV Screen.) Which can be removed off course. Anyone interested doing so. I miss my old car E38, there were endless possibilities you can do. Without harming the car.

E38, E39, E46 these all cars use IBUS technology for intergration of Multimedia stuff on the car that is Navigation, Tape, Radio, Steering Wheel Controls for Audio, Lately BMW switched to a newer technology called MOST Bus - It works on FiberOptic, and kind of difficult to play with. And more lately in F01/F02 7 Series they shifted to somethine newer than MOST, i forgot the name. Anyhow its too new to remember :)

You mean the Navigation on the phone will show what speed your car is going and the location etc ?

Ahh, I think my way of telling was confusing, Ok let me rephrase it. Navigation Maps on your Phone, Plus all the phone stuff, will come to BMW Navigation TV, its the same way as connecting your phone to a normal TV, you can watch videos, incoming calls, plus navigation maps, emails, MMS, SMS, what so ever is on phone, Question chats all you can do one phone then why on navigation, Good One, but i don't know, personally i loved to do that.

Some of us actually tried removing the TV warning on our screens but it didn't work... do u have a specific way of doing it?

Id like to ask you something, maybe you can help. Is there a way to connect Nokia N95 to my car's bluetooth ? For instance if someone calls on my mobile I answer from the car and speak using the in car mic.. This system is available on the new cars, is it compatible with E39s

SSense - Bluetooth - Its Doable, there are diffrent ways you can do that. OEM Setup, or your OWN Setup. I had that in my E38 - 2001, so E39 is the same.

For Blue tooth, it can be done, depends on whether that's what you want.

If you have TV Option in your car, than TV-Tuner can be modded for Video IN / Audio In cables, which will allow you to bring one video source to the car.
